Nebosh National General Certificate (NG1/NG2) - 2024

This course is suitable for supervisors, managers and safety representatives and provides a broad understanding of health and safety issues equipping learners to contribute to more effective management of workplace risk.

The award comprises of three modules:

Unit NG1  - Elements Covered  - in preparation for the Open Book Examination

  • Why we should manage workplace health and safety
  • How health and safety management systems work and what they look like
  • Managing risk – understanding people a
  • nd processes
  • Health and safety monitoring

Unit NG2 – Elements covered  - in preparation for the practical assessment

  • Physical and psychological health
  • Musculoskeletal health
  • Chemical and biological agents
  • General Workplace issues
  • Work equipment
  • Fire
  • Electricity

Duration
This course is delivered over two weeks:

  • Week 1 – NG1 (Monday to Friday)
  • Week 2 – NG2 (Monday to Friday)
  • Practical Examination  - Open Book Examination
  • Closing Interview (post examination)

How is the course assessed:

  • Open book examination (NG1) (exam open for 24hours)
  • Practical Examination (NG2) which must be completed and submitted within 2 two weeks of the written exam
  • Closing Interview post examination – arranged via MS Teams or Zoom
