Cat rescued from beneath flagstone, Aigburth

Location: Ivanhoe Road, Aigburth, Liverpool

Firefighters were called to Ivanhoe Road, Aigburth, on Wednesday 24th July after a cat became trapped beneath a paving flag in an alleyway.

Crews were alerted at 9.03am and on scene at 9.11am. One fire engine attended.

On arrival crews were told the cat had last been seen the evening before in a gully beneath a flagstone in an entry.

Working with the RSPCA, firefighters used tools to remove the flag and locate the cat.

The cat was unharmed in the incident.

Crews left the scene at 9.41am.
