Location: Hawthorne Road, Bootle
Fire crews have been called to a serious fire in Hawthorne Road, Bootle.
Crews were alerted at 3.36pm and were on scene at 3.40pm.
Four fire engines are at the scene.
Crews arrived to find the ground floor of a two-storey terraced property well alight. Firefighters in breathing apparatus began to fight the fire with a hose reel and main jet.
The incident is ongoing.
Update 4.25pm:
Fire crews remain at the scene and are checking adjacent properties, damping down and ventilating the premises.
There are not thought to be any injuries in the incident.
