Fire involving derelict bus and large quantity of waste, Bromborough


Location: Dock Road South, Bromborough

Firefighters are currently in attendance at a fire on Dock Road South, Bromborough.

Crews were alerted at 9.17pm and on scene at 9.20pm. Six fire engines are currently in attendance.

On arrival crews found a derelict bus well alight and a large quantity of waste also involved in fire.

The fire has been sectorised. Crews are using a main branches to extinguish the fire.

Nearby residents and businesses should keep windows and doors closed. Anyone with existing medical conditions should keep medicines nearby and call NHS 111 if ill effects occur. 

Please avoid the area.

The incident is ongoing.


Firefighting has ceased in sector one. Firefighting continues in sector two and three with crews using a main jet in each sector. The incident is expected to be scaled down shortly. 


Firefighting continued until shortly after midnight. The incident was handed over to onsite security.

Fire crews left the scene at 00.31am. 

An investigation into the cause of the fire will be carried out.
