Location: Alfred Lane, Oxton
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service is in attendance at an incident at Alfred Road, Oxton.
Crews were alerted at 21.23 and on scene at 21.27. Six fire engines and an aerial appliance are on scene.
On arrival crews found a semi-detached property with a fire on the first floor. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are currently fighting the fire in one house using two hose reel jets, while another two firefighters are checking the adjacent property for any fire spread.
Please avoid the area. Residents and businesses nearby should close windows and doors. Those with existing medical conditions should keep treatments nearby and if any ill effects are experienced, dial NHS 111 for advice.
The incident is ongoing.
UPDATE - 23:30
The aerial appliance was used to apply water to the property and also remove roof tiles.
Following success firefighting tactics, the fire has now been extinguished. Crews remain on scene to hot spot and dampen down the area. A thorough search has been completed and all persons are accounted for.
