Person rescued from house fire, Walton

Firefighters attended a fire at a property in Mandeville Street, Walton, on Thursday, 9th January.

Crews were alerted at 5.01pm and on the scene at 5.06pam. Three fire engines attended the incident.

On arrival, crews found a fire on the ground floor of the terraced property.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property, using hose reel jets to extinguish the fire, and rescued one person.

One person was administered with oxygen therapy by fire crew and was later assessed at the scene by North West Ambulance Service before being taken to hospital for further checks.

It is believed the fire started accidentally and involved a halogen heater.

Firefighters left the scene at 6.12pm.
