Location: Winston Crescent, Southport
Firefighters are in attendance at a roof fire in a house on Winston Crescent, Southport, on Tuesday, 30th July.
Crews were on the scene at 4.40pm. Two fire engines attended.
On arrival, crews found smoke issuing from the rear of the roof; they used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
Lightning appeared to have struck the gable end apex of the roof.
Crews remain at the scene using ladders and rope access gear to check for fire spread in the roof as a precaution.
The roof of the property has sustained some damage. Nobody is believed to be injured.
