Location: A59, Switch Island, Bootle
Firefighters attended a road traffic collision on the A59 in Bootle on Sunday 26th January.
Crews were alerted at 12.04pm and on scene at 12.10pm. Two fire engines attended as well as the search and rescue appliance.
On arrival crews found two vehicles had been involved in a collision on the northbound carriageway, close to Switch Island.
Five people were assessed at the scene by paramedics, with three people being taken to hospital for further assessment.
Crews left the scene at 12.33pm
