Location: Athol Street, Vauxhall
Fire crews are currently in attendance on Athol Street, Vauxhall, following a fire in sheltered accommodation flats.
Crews were alerted at 9.23pm and on scene at 9.29pm. Six fire engines are in attendance.
On arrival, firefighters found a fire in a ground floor laundry room. The remainder of the ground floor was heavily smoke logged.
The main body of the fire has been extinguished and crews are checking for hot spots.
A number of residents have been led to safety by firefighters and are being assessed at the scene by paramedics.
Firefighters are now ventilating the premises.
