Dear Sir/Madam
Following the recent disorder in Merseyside, I wanted to reach out on behalf of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service to offer our support and help to our organisation and the community you serve.
We understand that such events can be distressing and have a significant impact on the well-being of residents and the functioning of community services. Our teams are committed to helping you during these challenging times and ensuring that the necessary support is available to help keep you safe from fire.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service can provide the following support:
- Fire Safety Engagement: Our officers can review your premises and discuss any measures that you may need to put in place to ensure that your premises meet the necessary fire safety requirements. This could include fire alarms, extinguishers, and emergency exits.
- Community Education: We are available to provide fire safety information for your staff and community members. This information can cover topics such as emergency preparedness, home safety, arson, and evacuation procedures.
- Emergency Response Coordination: In the event of future incidents, our team can work closely with your organisation to ensure efficient and effective response and recovery efforts. We can assist in developing or updating emergency response plans tailored to your specific needs.
We recognise the emotional toll that such disturbances can have on individuals. Should you or other community members require support or need to talk please contact NHS 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Line on 0800 145 6570 or contact Samaritans on 116 123 for free.
You can find a variety of safety information on our website. Our website features the Recite Me toolbar which can support accessibility as well as translating to over 100 languages.
We are here to listen and support you in any way we can. If you or your organisation would like support or require any further information please use the contact form on our website.
Please include a contact telephone number within your correspondence and let us know a convenient time for us to contact you and discuss how we can help you. (This mailbox is not monitored 24 hours a day).
In the event of a fire, please call 999 and follow the fire evacuation procedures for your building.
We are committed to standing with you during this time and helping to rebuild a stronger and more resilient community.
Yours faithfully,
Phil Garrigan
Chief Fire Officer
