Fire Prevention

Our prevention teams work closely with our community partners to reduce fires, deaths and accidents resulting from fire causes across the whole of Merseyside. Our work involves providing fire safety and wellbeing advice to our most vulnerable residents; working with our police colleagues to tackle arson and anti-social behaviour; and working on our youth engagement initiatives to provide opportunities for young people to develop life skills and build a close relationship with the Fire and Rescue Service.

We employ a wide range of Community Fire Safety Advocates to help achieve our aim of a fire safe community. Whilst our firefighters can carry out the majority of Home Risk Assessments there are communities and areas that require more resources and a targeted approach and as a result we have Bi-lingual Advocates, Older Persons Advocates, Disability Advocates, Arson Reduction Advocates, Deaf Advocates and District Advocates to assist with this work.
